Welcome, engineering writers.

Whether you are an engineer, technician, researcher or instructor, your practical experience can help someone solve a real problem. Send us a finished article or start with an idea. We will review it with you and credit your work if it is published.

What you can write about

Practical articles on industrial maintenance, reliability, HVAC and BMS, electrical systems, PLC and automation, utilities, energy, safety-aware troubleshooting and engineering management.

  • Show the problem, measurements or evidence, your reasoning and the outcome or lesson.
  • Explain assumptions and limits. Cite sources for technical claims and include units where relevant.
  • Use only material you have permission to share. Remove employer, client, equipment and personal details that are confidential.
  • Provide original writing and images you own or are allowed to publish. Disclose relevant products, affiliations or commercial interests.

Editorial standards

SEA reviews each pitch and draft for relevance, clarity, technical accuracy, safe context, originality and permissions. We may request revisions or decline a submission. An accepted article receives an author byline and publication date; you approve the final text before it goes live.

We do not accept posts written mainly to place advertising or search-ranking links. Any external links must serve the reader and pass editorial review.

How publication works

  1. Send your article or an idea. Email a finished draft, or use the short pitch form.
  2. Review it together. We check relevance, evidence, clarity and permissions, then discuss any edits with you.
  3. Approve and publish. You review the final copy before SEA publishes it on the blog with your byline.

Have a finished post? Send it in.

We welcome practical guides, lessons from troubleshooting and carefully anonymized case studies. Email your article as a Word document, PDF or readable document link.

  • Include the article title, your name and a short author bio.
  • Add sources for technical claims and disclose any relevant commercial interests.
  • Check that any photos, diagrams or workplace details may be shared publicly.

Your email app opens so you can attach the draft or add its link. Publication follows editorial review.

Still shaping an idea? Pitch it.

The form prepares an email. Your email app opens so you can review and send it; the website does not submit or store your pitch.
